Gloucester and its surroundingsGloucester, the ancient capital of the beautiful county of Gloucestershire, is a popular cathedral city that also boasts England’s most inland harbour. Visitors to the city are astounded by the splendour of its magnificent Cathedral and the huge Victorian Harbour and waterfront that connects with an interesting range of historic buildings, shops, bars and restaurants. Mulberry House is within walking distance of the Cathedral, the Docks and the city centre which also contains a number of real gems. For instance, the House of the Tailor of Gloucester, is the actual shop that Beatrix Potter drew when illustrating her famous story “The Tailor of Gloucester” and there are two fine museums which tell the story of this extraordinary city which was founded nearly 2000 years ago by the Romans.
